Douglas W. Marion, Vice President
Doug joined MRS in May, 1984. He is a licensed General Contractor as well as holding plumbing and mechanical contractor's licenses. Doug has extensive
experience in construction and has managed hundreds of retail projects for MRS. Doug's in-depth construction experience makes him uniquely qualified to manage
our construction staff efficiently and effectively. He is involved in each project from estimate to completion and serves as primary liaison with our clients. Doug
is also a licensed, instrument-rated commercial pilot, allowing MRS to be on any of its job sites within four hours. Doug has a BS degree from NC State University.
Sarah Klingensmith, Controller
Sarah joined MRS in 2010 and manages our accounting department. Sarah has BS from High Point University and majored in Accounting and Economics and is a CPA. Sarah manages all audit activities, analysis, accounts payable, receivables, general ledger and payroll. Sarah provides leadership and strengthens internal communications with staff at all levels throughout our organization creating and promoting a positive and supportive work environment. Sarah previously worked with MRS from 2000 thru 2002. Prior to joining MRS, Sarah has worked with General Contractors beginning in 1994.
Michael L. Swaim, Jr., Project Manager
Mike, Jr. joined MRS in 2001, serving as a Superintendent and Project Manager for retail stores, both free-standing and up-fit. Mike, Jr. studied Business Administration at Guilford Technical Community College. Prior to joining MRS, he was a driver in the NASCAR Busch and Dash Series, the Craftsman Truck
and the ARCA Series. Mike, Jr. won the Busch Pole Award (1997), the Gatorade Front Runner Award (1997), and Dash Series Championship (1997).
Travis S. Swaim, Project Manager
Travis joined MRS in 2000, as an Estimator and Project Manager for retail stores, both free standing and up-fit. Travis has an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Guilford Technical Community College. Travis holds a North & South Carolina General Contractor's license. Travis is a driver for the Falcon Racing Team in the NASCAR late model stock series and is the 2010 Track Champion at Caraway Speedway. In 2009 he won the North Carolina State Champion in the NASCAR Whelen All-American series as well as the Caraway Speedway Track Champion a title he also won in 2004 and 2005.
Travis Jarrett, Project Manager
Travis Jarrett joined MRS in August of 2004. He graduated from Guilford Technical Community College with an Applied Science Associates Degree in Business. Travis has worked as a superintendent and construction coordinator with MRS and is now a Project Manager with MRS. Travis has been the full time spotter and part time driver for falcon racing since 2004.
Mike Emerline, Project Manager
Mike joined MRS in 2010 and has a B.S in Construction Management from Appalachian State University with a business minor and made the Dean’s list. During college Mike worked as an assistant foreman for a custom home builder.
After graduation Mike worked with one of the nation’s largest home builders as a superintendent and was recognized as Builder of the month and won the special category and gold medal awards.
Mike has also worked as a Project Manager for a GC in South Florida building mixed-use facilities including retail, restaurants, housing, and marinas. Mike enjoys golfing and snowboarding.
John Overocker, Estimator
John joined MRS in January, 1999. He has a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from the University of Florida. John is responsible for estimating projects.
During college, John worked with several different contractors.
Robert Taylor, Estimator
Robert joined MRS in January, 2010. He has a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction from the University of Florida, where he graduated Cum Laude. Robert is responsible for estimating
projects. Prior to joining MRS, Robert served as a project manager and estimator with several other general contractors in Florida. He also has prior
experience in home construction while he was attending college.
Leon Stewart, Project Manager
Leon joined MRS in 2010 and has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from UNC Charlotte. He also has a MBA from UNC Greensboro, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in North Carolina. Prior to joining MRS, Leon was a home builder.
Tim Marks, Project Manager
Tim joined MRS in January of 2011. He began his first assignment as a Field Superintendent/ Assistant Project Manager for the Pottery Barn Store at Christiana Mall, Newark Delaware. Presently, he serves as Project Manager with duties not limited to the purchase of the awarded projects and to interface the MRS office staff with the project owners representative, architect, subcontractors, suppliers, and field superintendents.Tim attended Blackhawk Technical College and served a 4 year state indentured trade apprenticeship. He has an Unlimited General Contractors License for The State of North Carolina and a General Contractor License for The State of Florida, (Unlimited). Tim has had electrical licenses in two states and a past state designer certification, no longer maintained. He is a past chairman of a contractors association. Tim's career has been focused on construction, serving as a contractor, project manager, estimator, superintendent, subcontractor, and tradesman. Tim has also been involved in several types of construction projects including commercial, retail, industrial, high rise, multifamily, residential, institutional, land development, and utility.
Taylor Williams, Project Manager
Taylor joined MRS in 2011 as a bid solicitor. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Directly out of college, Taylor flipped homes and performed residential remodels in Austin, TX and surrounding area. Later he joined a general contractor in Georgetown, TX as an estimator for small commercial projects nationwide. Taylor currently serves as a project manager at MRS for retail stores.
Eric Ren, Bid Coordinator
Eric studied at Missouri University of Science & Technology in the Architectural Engineering program. While in school I was the project/construction manager of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity house responsible for designing and completing an 18,000 square foot fraternity house built into a 1940's downtown structure. I also interned at Management Resource Systems, Inc. in the summer of 2008 as well as worked on numerous small construction projects through community service ventures in high school and college.
Thomas Bulla, Bid Coordinator
Thomas joined MRS in January of 2012, as a bid coordinator. He has a B.S. in Organizational Management and Marketing / Public Relations. Thomas has an extensive background as a Project Coordinator. He also has experience in residential construction extending to 1996.
